I plum forgot...

Am I aleady getting forgettful in my old age? All I can say is I just forgot. I made banana bread yesterday after work around 6pm. When the timer went off they still needed a couple more minutes. I honestly feel like I set the timer again so I wouldn't forget to take them out before I left for my girls' group. But around 9:30pm, Brooke said something that made me think of food and I remembered then. I called Josh to turn the oven off and take them out. I can't even begin to tell you how upset and STUPID I felt. Then I felt even more upset that I was crying about it. No big deal, so I burned some bread, it's not the end of the world. But I still feel pretty dumb. Praise the Lord my townhouse didn't catch on fire.

I called my mother to vent and I always feel better when I talk to my mommy. She reminded me of the time when she turned the oven off on a Thanksgiving when we had over 20 people at our house for dinner. We had to call around Dayton to find a turkey to feed 20 people. She assured me that everyone has a duh moment when cooking, except for Gammie (her mother). She doesn't think Gammie has ever had a duh moment while cooking.

Oh, and my two pans are still soaking in my sink. What can I say? I just plum forgot.

Birthday Thanks....Nolabola!

First off, I must apologize for being such a bad blogger lately, I hear there's a case of that going around. It definitely has not been for the lack of things to blog about, it's time. Between my amazing weekend with my parents, work, my second job of caring for my home and hubby, and turning the big 25 this week, I just haven't had the time to sit down and blog about it.

So first, I just want to thank all of my friends and family who helped make my special day even more special. The cards, gifts, phone calls, text messages, emails, facebook messages, blog shout-outs (thanks Brooke ), everything is greatly appreciated and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I was telling Josh during our dinner tonight that I just felt really loved by so many people today. This has definitely been an incredibly special birthday this year, all because of you guys.

Now it's time for you to get a good dose of my most favorite dog in the world. That's right, you called it ladies and gentlemen......NOLA!!! Josh and I had a great time with my parents last week (more pictures to come). And we had a great time with our Nola. She is just the cutest thing and just melts our hearts. I'm sure my feelings for her might change somewhat when Josh and I have a baby someday, but for now she is our baby and we are going to spoil her rotten when she comes to visit us.

Just to let you know, Nola got groomed last week. Whenever she gets groomed they put a cute little bow in her hair that only lasts a couple of days because my father takes it out. This time they put in a pretty blinged out bow. It actually had sequence on it.

Aren't these two just so precious?!!! Nola loves snuggling up on the couch on a Saturday afternoon to watch football with Josh.

I miss her. Nola, I wish you could come and live with us in Erie.

Nola is wishing my mom would share her pineapple upside down cake (sent from my Gammie with my parents...freshly made Friday morning...it was muy delicioso!)

I told my mother to bring Nola's sweater since it's been getting cooler up here. She actually didin't have to wear it this weekend but I just wanted to put it on so I could take a picture of her for you all.

Here we have my wonderful parents with Nolabola. As much as Josh and I miss Nola, we couldn't take her away from my parents. They too love her to pieces and my dad won't admit it but I know he is spoiling her rotten.

Please let me know if any one of you is going through Nola withdrawal and you need me to post some pictures of her. I will gladly oblige.

Friday Night

Well, it's Friday night and Josh and I are sitting on our sofa watching "Clear & Present Danger" on AMC after giving our townhouse a quick clean and awaiting my parents arrival from Dayton, Ohio. Their trip to Erie this weekend is kind of a last minute trip. Josh mentioned on Thursday that he did not have a lot to study this weekend since his next exam was next Friday, and he insisted they come up for the weekend especially since my father has the weekend off. And since my parents can't resist a good road trip to Erie, PA, they left this afternoon and should be arriving any minute!!!

I feel like this week went by in a blurr. Does anyone else feel like that? Maybe because I spent most of my week battling a nasty cold, but thinking back over my week, I'm having a hard time remembering what I did each day this week (besides work of course). I know I had a soccer game this week, a quick trip to Priority Care for my cold, another doctor's appointment for Josh, my girls' group Bible study, and I'm sure there was more but I can't remember.

Oh, I have to go. My parents just got here with Nola!!! Pictures of Nola to come!!!! Have a great weekend!
