Born To Heaven

It has been six months and I am finally able to return to my blog and hopefully get back into blogging.

I'm pretty sure most of you know this, but for those who don't, we lost the baby. It actually happened on the day of my last blog post (see here). Later that night Josh asked me if I had been feeling the baby move much that day and I couldn't remember if I had. I actually remember the last time I felt him move but I don't know if it was the night before or that morning. All I remember is I was laying in bed when I last felt him kick. Anyways, we went to the hospital that Friday night to get checked out and they couldn't find his heart beat. Our world collapsed.

We named our son Leyton Marc and he was absolutely beautiful.

I want to get back into blogging but I don't think I'll be posting much on this blog. I feel like the chapter of "Becoming the Glupkers" might be coming to a close and it's time to start a new one with a new blog. I may occassionally come back here and post, we'll see. I will always cherish this blog for the amazing memories and stories it tells of the beginning of our married life together.

I don't have the new blog set up quite yet but I will soon. I'll come back and post a link to it here.

But for now, please continue to keep Josh and I in your prayers. We want to thank those who have been praying for us and let them know how much we deeply appreciate you lifting us up to the Father.

  1. I just saw on Camille's sidebar that you had updated.....I know this took a ton of courage, Bethany, and I love you for being so strong. The picture of Leyton is absolutely beautiful. I am praying for you right now and continue to each day. You are so dear to my heart and I know the Lord will eventually bring beauty from ashes in this difficult road you've had to endure.

  5. Oh my gosh, I am so very very sorry for your loss. I read your blog from time to time and knew just how excited and ready you both were for this baby. I can also share that I lost my baby daughter Lily 6 years ago and now have TWO wonderful toddlers who are 3 and 4 yrs old. Sending my prayers and good thoughts your way.

  10. Hi Bethany. I found your blog through Camille and Brooke. I went to Baylor and knew Camille there. Anyway, I read your blog briefly right before you made it private and had a feeling something had happened and have been praying for y'all. There aren't any words I can say, but I am so sorry. That is such a sweet sweet picture of your son.

  13. You don't know me but I first found your blog through Lauren Fowler's. I used to enjoy reading your posts and then they stopped just as I thought there would be a baby post. I quickly learned God's plan for Leyton (beautiful name by the way)was different than yours. I wanted you to know I've prayed many prayers for you and your husband (when I saw him on his OB rotation I think).

Thank you for sharing this beautiful picture of Leyton with us in the blog world.
