First Cold

It's 12am and I am still up worrying about my little Jonah, he has his first cold. Two nights ago he woke up with a little cough, last night he woke up around 2am super congested, and he just woke up because his head is so full of uckiness. I feel so bad for him. I'm watching him right now on his video monitor struggling to suck his thumb. It's hard for him to suck on anything right now since he can't breath well out of his nose, and this kid loves his paci.

When he got up tonight, Josh and I sprayed a little baby saline solution in his nose to help clear him up, and he didn't like it one bit. After I fed him to calm him down he fell asleep in my arms. I just wanted to stay there all night long holding him until morning making sure he was ok. I'm sure I will up checking the monitor multiple times tonight.

I know this is just a head cold but as his mom I just feel so bad for him and I wish there was more I could do. I wish I was the one who was sick. I am thankful that during the day he hasn't been too fussy. Just his normal tired fussiness from not taking sufficient naps (he's still doing the 45 minute thing).

Praying for you to feel better soon little buddy, so we can take a little road trip to Massillon this weekend to see where we will be living for the next five years!

  2. Awww...only a mother would rather be sick than watch her child be ill. I hope he feels better soon!

  3. Hey Bethany,
I was thinking about you guys this past weekend with your trip to Massillon. So exciting that you finally know where you'll be. It made me think back to when we were coming to Cleveland a lot to check things out and Will was just a couple of months younger than Jonah. It felt like a lot of work at the time (look at a house, nurse, look at a couple of houses, nurse, change diaper in the backseat, look at a couple of houses...) but looking back, I'm so glad he was a baby in a carseat that could be carried rather than a toddler that could run around and would need to be entertained!! I hope you are getting lots of help with finding places to live and such!! Let me know if you're ever passing through Cleveland. I'd love to do lunch or something fun! Miss you Erie gals!!!
